Think Globally. Act Locally.
In 2017, our Gift Garden helped feed 2,500 families. The Central West End Farm is an important resource within the community to help eliminate hunger through urban farming .
Our Mission
The Central West End Farm’s mission is to eliminate hunger within our community by growing, harvesting and delivering organic vegetables and fruits to clients at local food pantries.
Saturday morning is harvest day and a special day at the farm.
Help begins to arrive after 7:30 am.; neighbors, families, STL Village members and many more. Depending on the time of season as much as 120 pounds of vegetables and fruits can be harvested in as little as 90 minutes. ROI
The return on investment is equally impressive. On average one lettuce plant at the cost of .25 might be harvested as many as four times producing as much as four pounds of lettuce valued at $2.00/pound or a total of $8.00. One package of carrot seeds costing $2.00 will produce on average 100 to 150 carrots.
